Last week, Heath Ledger was found dead in his New York City apartment. Although the cause of death is not known at this time, many developed have developed theories that girlfriend Mary-Kate Olsen and Heath’s masseuse were somehow connected to his death. Stories from shows such as Extra are focusing on Heath’s past drug addiction as a possible cause. The coroner is awaiting toxicology reports which should be available within two weeks.

Many will remember Heath for his movie roles, he was also a father to 3 year old daughter Mathilda. Although Heath was never married, he was engaged to actress Michelle Williams who ended the relationship due to Heath’s drug abuse.

Heath’s family held a private memorial service in Hollywood, Heath is making his final premier in his native Australia where he will be laid to rest in a $25,000 casket.

It’s a well known fact that Britney started dating Kevin Federline while Shar Jackson was pregnant with their 2nd child. In the past Britney has expressed that its okay to date someone who is “attached”; she even went on to say, “Well Julia Roberts dated a married man.” Of course, in K-Fed’s case, he was not legally married to Shar Jackson. However, lately Britney has been seen with her own private paparazzi boy toy Adnan Ghalib who is legally married. The happy couple have been seen skipping around the Los Angeles area and the two have already made trips to New York and even to Mexico. Adnan’s wife, who is obviously humiliated by her husband’s shameless affair, has filed for legal separation.

We are sad to report actor Brad Renfro was found dead Tuesday morning in his Los Angeles home, he was 25 years old. The cause of death is unknown at this time, many speculate the cause is related to his trouble with drugs throughout the years.

Brad is best known for his roles in “The Client”, “Apt Pupil”, “Tom and Huck”, “Deuces Wild”, and “Sleepers”. In the recent years, Brad made an appearance on “Law and Order: Criminal Intent” and he was working on a film called “The Informers” with co-stars Billy Bob Thorton and Winona Ryder.

Brad Renfro will be missed dearly by all the special people he touched during his short life. There will always be star for Brad Renfro in Hollywood.

On Christina Aguilera’s website, she celebrates the birth of her son Max Liron Bratman.

According to ParentsDish, Christina explained the meaning behind her son’s name.
Max Liron comes to mean “My greatest song.” Congratulations to the Bratman’s mommy, daddy, and baby are resting well in the former Osborne house.

We have just learned that Christina Aguilera has a C-section scheduled for January 11th. The 27-year-old pop star is having her first child with her husband Jordan Bratman. Christina has been tight lipped during her pregnancy, the sex is unknown but paparazzi have spotted her shopping for blue items at various high-end boutiques.

Just when we thought Britney Spears had reached an all time low, she decides to prove us wrong in 2008. For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the latest news- I will recap the events of the last week. Britney Spears refused to turn over her two children over to Kevin Federline’s bodyguards. She went as far as to lock herself into a room of her Beverly Hills home with one of her children. Police were called to the scene along with Mark Vincent Kaplan (Kevin Federline’s Attorney.) The dispute ended dramatically with Britney Spears being taken from her home in a gurney. It is unclear what exactly occurred inside the home, everyone is being very tight lipped. Britney was taken to Cedar-Sinai Hospital for a 72-hour-mental evaluation. Authorities felt Ms Spears was a danger to herself or others and that is why she was taken to the hospital. Police officers felt Britney was under the influence of some “unknown substance.” Tests have not revealed what that substance is. Over the weekend Britney was released since she posed no imminent danger to herself or others. To many sources it is clear that Britney suffers from bi-polar disorder and it is a well-known fact that she has been prescribed anti-anxiety medication. To add insult to injury “Dr. Phil” McGraw went to the hospital to “rescue” her at the advice of her family. Apparently has plan was to exploit Britney by staging a TV intervention to boost his ratings. Britney’s family has spoken out and made it clear that Dr. Phil went against their wishes, and they feel completely betrayed. Britney has done her best to stay out of trouble this week; but I’m sure this weekend will promise more drama for the fallen pop princess.

Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban are the latest couple to receive a visit from the stork. We’ve heard numerous “false” reports that Nicole was not pregnant. Her publicist just confirmed that indeed Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban are expecting a baby and they are “thrilled.” This is great news for a couple that has been through quite a journey. Keith Urban has been to rehab since getting married to Nicole, so it has not been an easy road. Nicole is most famous for her marriage to actor Tom Cruise, whom she has two adopted children with.

Welcome to the first “This Week in Hollywood” of 2008. This year promises to be full of excitement in Hollywood. Already, Miss Britney Spears has kicked off the year right by creating gigantic headlines.
