Ricky Martin Receives His Star

On October 16th, Ricky Martin was honored for his achievement as one of the most successful Latin singers in the music industry. Ricky Martin, known in the United States for his cross-over hit “Livin’ La Vida Loca” has been on the music scene since he was a child in the group Menudo. Ricky Martin is unarguably one of the top-selling Latin music artists, and one of the best performers in the world. Ricky Martin’s “Black and White” tour was one of the top-ten highest grossing tours of 2007. As a solo artist, Ricky Martin has sold over 60 million albums, he has also received numerous honors such as a Lifetime Achievement Award, Hispanic Heritage Award, “Person of The Year”, and he’s been voted by People magazine as one of the “50 Most Beautiful People.” Ricky Martin is also known as a humanitarian, in 2005 he has been fighting for causes such as human trafficking, poverty, and he has raised money for victims of Hurricane Katrina and the Tsunami disaster.

Ricky Martin graciously accepted his award during the ceremony and he said, “This is an incredible moment,” he told the crowd. “Everything I do, I do with love and passion.” Ricky Martin spoke to the press and remarked My work has been recognized. It will stay here forever, hopefully.” Ricky Martin has just concluded his top-selling “Black and White Tour”, and he will continue doing what he’s known for.
