The decision was made in June to open the store in San Francisco at Union Square to align itself with other high-end stores in the area such as Bloomingdales, Prada, and Dolce & Gabbana. San Francisco is one of the top tourist destinations in the world, and Union Square is becoming the center for high-end shopping. Tyra Banks is one of many celebs to credit Barneys for her trend-setting ways. Barneys plans to open many more stores across the country.
