American idol-reject Sundance Head, who was an early favorite has been signed by Universal Records Motown. He is expected to give some of the other American Idols a run on the charts. Other castoffs who have experienced recent success as a result of the show include: Katharine McPhee, Elliot Yamin, and Sabrina Sloan who was recently signed to Universal as well.
Funny-man Steve Martin, got married on Saturday to girlfriend Anne Stringfield. The happy duo informed guests they were coming over for a dinner party, and they surprised everyone with a wedding ceremony at Steve’s Los Angeles home. Some notable witnesses to the nuptial included: Diane Keaton, Tom Hanks, Eugene Levy, comedian Carl Reiner, and magician/actor, Ricky Jay. This is the second marriage for Steve Martin, who will be celebrating his 62nd birthday in August; this is the first marriage for the 35 year old Anne Stringfield.
The R&B singer, Usher Raymond was scheduled to marry Tameka Foster on July 28th. At the last minute, the singer made the decision to back out of the wedding of his pregnant girlfriend. For months, fans and insiders have speculated about the paternity of the unborn child of Foster. Some onlookers have reported seeing the couple arguing for months, which lead to speculation of a breakup. Sources such as TMZ, have implied the lack of approval from Usher’s mother and former manager contributed to his decision to cancel the wedding. There are reports that Jonetta Patton (Usher’s mother) and Tameka foster never were civil with one another, and Tameka Foster persuaded Usher into dumping his mother as his manager. TMZ also reported Usher and Tameka were not able to agree on catering decisions for the wedding reception, while the R&B star wanted an upscale dinner catered by world-class chef Jean Georges, Foster wanted something more cozy like a backyard barbecue- REALLY CLASSY! In the end, perhaps this was an indication that Foster was not willing to live the “good-life” as Mrs. Raymond and Usher now can interview the next lady in line.

Pollstar, a music magazine has compiled a list of the top-grossing tours of the year. The Police topped the list, grossing over $3,128,865 after recently reuniting. Second on the list were, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s “Soul 2 Soul Tour” grossed $1,775,630. Third on the list was Kenny Chesney, who grossed $1,326,621. Next on the list was, Roger Waters who grossed $1,298,552. Cirque Du Soleil’s new production called the “Delirium” grossed $802,975. Popstar, Christina Aguilera came in sixth place grossing $762,762 on her “Back to Basics” tour. Latin singing sensation Ricky Martin grossed 595,627 on his “Black and White Tour.” Gwen Stefani’s “Sweet Escape Tour” made $569,655, The Rowdy Frynds Tour came in ninth at $516,773 and Tool came in tenth at $462,308.
