- La Casa de Machado y Silvas (Commercial Restaurant)
Originally, Jose Nicasio Silvas lived in this residence with wife and children. For more than one hundred years this home was passed down in the family. At one time this
home served as a boarding house, saloon, restaurant, art studio, souvenir shop, museum, and church. Today, it is a museum.
- United States House
In 1850, Charles Noell and John Hayes operated a general store out of this building. In 1854, this building was leased to Robert Lloyd and Edward Kerr, who named this building the United States House. Together, they operated an express wagon rental service.
- San Diego House
This house was built by Hilario Ponciano, and sold to Henry Fitch in 1841. This home was lead to Richard Freeman, who lived in this home along with his friend friend, Allen B Light. They were the first African Americans to settle in San Diego. Together, the two operated a saloon. In 1851, Allen Freeman died, and Allen B Light left the area. In the 1860s, American Hotel was built over this historical site.
- Racine & Laramie Store
Juan Rodriguez, a soldier received this land in exchange for his military service. A home was built on this land in 1830, it later burned in 1872. In 1869, Racine and Laramie operated a store selling cigars, tobacco, and stationary. Today, the property resembles the store operated by Racine and Laramie
-Robinson-Rose House
In 1853, James Robinson built this house to serve as a family residence, home of the San Diego Herald, San Diego and Gila Railroad Office.
- Mason Street School
This public school was built in 1865, the first teacher Mary Chase Walker was paid a salary of $65 a month. Today, the school is now operated by the San Diego Historic Days Association.
- Whaley House
The Whaley House was originally a family home like so many of the other landmarks in Old Town, since 1960 it has functioned as a museum. This is one of San Diego’s most tourist destinations, because rumors have circulated that this home is haunted. According to the Travel Channel, this is the most haunted house in United States. Many tourists have reported “paranormal experiences,†and have documented these occurrences with their camera.
Father’s dad was not so bad after all for the Hilton family. Paris made her father, Ricky Hilton a wonderful Father’s Day card (according to Kathy Hilton.) It was a lovely family affair, with plenty of paparazzi around so they could make their grand appearance at the Lynnwood jail. The Hilton’s reported that Princess Paris stares at the walls all day, they have attempted to post family photos but the guards have ripped them off of the walls. Apparently Paris is very focused on making changes in her life, and she’s really gotten serious about this by reading self-help books.

-A judge dropped all charges against rapper, Fabolous have been dropped for an October 17th illegal weapons charge.
-Rumors are swirling that Kevin Federline and Britney are trying to reconcile. According to reports Star magazine reports Shar Jackson (the mother of Federline’s other children) is 7 weeks pregnant; Shar denies this report.
-In a song leaked to Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS FM show, Akon apologies to Gwen Stefani and his wife for his recent controversial behavior. Akon is a supporting act for Gwen Stefani’s Sweet Escape Tour.
-David Hasselhoff was awarded full custody of his two daughters.
-Kelly Clarkson is forced to cancel her tour due to poor ticket sales.

If you’ve been out of the loop, let’s revisit last week’s events. The heiress turned herself in last Sunday night to serve her time at the Lynnwood Correctional Facility. During her stay, she experience “severe psychological problems” that lead to her getting a rash, I didn’t know that is how you get rashes in your crotches. According to reports, she was constantly sobbing and met several times with a psychiatrist and her personal physician. After severing 4 full days, and a portion of the fifth day the sheriff took it upon himself to put Paris on house arrest to serve the remainder of her term. So, if you are rich spoil inmate you get a get out of jail free card? The judge didn’t think so, he outraged and demanded to see Paris in court the next day. The judge saw no reason why the hotel heiress could not serve the remainder of her term at the correctional treatment facility and get the medical attention that she needed. He ordered her to serve the remainder of her term and she will be released June 26th; the judgment was too much for the heiress and her family. Paris remarked “It’s not right!” and continued by calling out to her mother, Kathy Hilton. The parents were visibly upset, and they let press know they would appeal the ruling. Later the heiress hand a change of heart, stating in her public statement the following:
“Today I told my attorneys not to appeal the judge’s decision. While I greatly appreciate the Sheriff’s concern for my health and welfare, after meeting with doctors I intend to serve my time as ordered by the judge.
This is by far the hardest thing I have ever done. During the past several days, I have had a lot of time to reflect and have already learned a bitter, but important lesson from this experience.
As I have said before, I hope others will learn from my mistake. I have also had time to read the mail from my fans. I very much appreciate all of their good wishes and hope they will keep their letters coming.
I must also say that I was shocked to see all of the attention devoted to the amount of time I would spend in jail for what I had done by the media, public and city officials. I would hope going forward that the public and the media will focus on more important things, like the men and women serving our country in Iraq, Afghanistan and other places around the world.” Paris Hilton June 9, 2007

On June 10th, Paris made a collect call to Barbara Walters to recount her experience. Paris spoke from a spiritual point of view talking about how she’s changed in a matter of days. She wants to focus her energy on helping the ill, and she recognizes that her past antics are not acceptable for a 26 year old. Paris feels she was sent to jail because spirit did like the way she was viewed and that’s why she was sent to jail. Could this be the beginning of a new and improved Paris, or is she trying to save the family name?
In spite of Paris’ alleged feelings of remorse, she is still hopeful that she will be released early.
“I feel that the purpose of my life is to be where I am. However, usually with a situation like mine, the person serves 10 percent of their time. I have already served 30 percent of my time. I hope if there is overcrowding in the jail, I would be let out before someone with a much more serious crime.”

The heiress reportedly told her mother she will never have another drinking and driving offense again, but it sounds like she still fails to understand the seriousness of her crime.
