International heart throb, Ricky Martin kicked off his Blanco Y Negro tour in San Jose, California. In San Jose, he performed before a sold out crowd of devoted fans, who could sing each word of his songs. Ricky took everyone on a global tour of he considered “the best of his music.” He opened the show with his current single “Pegate”, with a very slow melodic arrangement of this single. Through the journey we experienced some of his past hit singles such as, “She’s All I Ever Had”, “Vuelve”, “Tal Vez”, and of course the song that gave him his claim to fame in America “Livin’ La Vida Loca.” Ricky gave his fans a taste of everything, from Spanish rock, dance music. Ricky could not forget causes that are near and very dear to him, he honored all of the people who are suffering in the world with his song “Somos La Semilla.” He could leave without giving his fans a show they would never forget!
Ricky continued onto Fresno, California where many fans traveled from all over California to see their heartthrob. Ricky made it apparent, that he’s on a mission of perfection. Small changes are made to his tour after each show. In Fresno, he decided to reduce his dialogue from his previous show. His show that night was filled with energy, it wasn’t apparent to most that Ricky had been traveling on and off for over three months. He seemed more energized than ever with faced paced choreography, and he shared great enthusiasm with his fans about his MTV Unplugged album.
On route to Los Angeles, Ricky finally got a day off to reflect, and appreciate the wonderful things in his life. In his shows in Los Angeles, and San Diego he shared with his audience how frustrated he is about news stories, and rumors about him. He wants to focus on the more serious issues that are plaguing the nations. He said, “Some mornings I wake up feeling weird, I just make a list of 10 reasons why I’m grateful.” He encouraged his audience to do the same. At that moment each member of his audience faithfully listened to their Latin idol, and they took that bit of wisdom home with them.
Ricky’s music filled the hearts of fans in the cities of San Jose, Fresno, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego opening week. Many of his fans, whom have been with him throughout the years, will continue to support him and travel to other locations during this twenty city tour. Ricky will open week 2 of his tour in Rosement, Illinois; from there he will travel to Fairfax, Virginia.
