Must Have Beauty Items for the Summer!

Published April 29, 2007 by CoutureCentral

The summer is right around the corner, and here’s a list of must have beauty items. You will find the top five beauty items that you should not be without. In the spring and summer, it’s hard to keep your eye make up in place without a base. If you want your lips to feel light and sexy, you can’t leave home without lip gloss. In the summer, you want to smell good without over-doing it. If you’re wearing anything sleeveless or thin you don’t want to paranoid about the traces of white deodorant under your arms. You can’t enjoy the beautiful weather without putting on some lotion that will leave your legs feeling sleep and sexy. Try all of these must have items, and you will leave home looking and feeling great!

Touch Base for Eyes

If you’re not in the mood to wear full make up but you want your eye make up to stay put, consider trying Clinique’s touch base for eyes. The touch base for eyes functions as a base for your powder eye shadow, and it can also be used as a 2-in-1 base and eye shadow. Once the base dries, it does give off a shimmer just like many powder eye shadows. This product is available in the following shades: Canvas, Limited Canvas Deep, Up-Lighting, Buff Lighting, Petal, Nude Rose.

Lip Gloss Dot

Even if you’re not big on wearing make up, it’s important to carry a basic lip gloss. The body shop has an excellent product called the Lip Gloss Dot. It will give your lips that extra shimmer, it’s up to you if you would like to add a hint of color, or use this as a base for your lipstick. You will find there’s a wide variety of colors and levels of sparkles that will flatter all skin tones. The Lip Gloss Dot is available in the following shades: Ice Shimmer (Clear), Candy Pink, Soft Plum, and Bilberry Juice.

Body Mist

In warm weather, it’s wise to wear a light fragrance that’s fresh. I would recommend a body mist or body splash. Calgon and Bath and Body Works have excellent lines of body mist products; there are many fragrances to choose from to accommodate different occasions. Body mists are great for the summer because they are light, and will help you stay fresh even after perspiration occurs.

Clear Deodorant

In summer weather, we all love to show a little extra skin and no one wants to be left with embarrassing traces of white deodorant in the underarm area. I would recommend a new deodorant by Dove called, Ultimate Clear. This product is not only clear but leaves you with smoother underarms. For a limited time, you can get free samples of this deodorant exclusively at the dove website.

Body Lotion

If you’re looking for a body lotion to keep your skin moisturized and smooth and silky, I’d recommend Bath and Body Works Classics. These lotions come in a number of different fragrances; the scents are light to aromatic depending on your taste level. For the daytime, I’d recommend wearing something very subtle.

Finding a Fragrance That Suits Your Personality

Published April 26, 2007 by CoutureCentral

Usually when people wear a fragrance, they’re looking to express a general mood. We must take into consideration that moods are temporary, and perhaps expressing a mood through a fragrance will send a mixed message about your personality. First impressions are everything in this world, and a fragrance can open your life to opportunities that you’ve never dreamed of! When someone that smells attractive walks by, you can’t help but turn your head and notice that person. The fragrance has all of sudden made you curious about who that person is, and what they’re wearing. A fragrance should reflective of your personality, not a mood that you want to portray because you want to demonstrate that you’re consistent. When choosing your fragrance the factors that matter the most are originality, and innovation.

Choosing a fragrance that mixes with your body chemistry is your first step. It’s important to realize that just because a cologne or perfume smells good on your best friend does not mean it will smell great on you! Most fragrances smell great; the rule is sample until you find something that compliments you. I would recommend sampling no more than 4 fragrances in one day. Sampling means that you need to spray the fragrance on the back of your wrist preferably.

Understanding your signature fragrances will require a little bit of research. Everyone should have at least one fragrance appropriate for the work day, a casual day, and active day, and something for the evening. There are different fragrance categories such as floral, spicy, citrus, and aromatic. It’s important to choose the stronger scents for the evening it would be considered in polite to wear anything that is too strong during the day.

The next step to perfecting your signature collection would be to understand your personality. Think of 4 descriptive words to describe who you are, those words will translate into certain fragrance categories. You have to understand a fragrance will form the first impression, so in 15 seconds someone will know who you are! This is something that should be a long process if you haven’t made your fragrance collection compatible with your personality. You will discover positive results from those around you, and a fragrance that represents who you are is also good for your morale.

Remember the rules of wearing a fragrance, make a positive impression and make it last! Usually if you spray 1-2 times that will be enough, you definitely don’t want to look like you’re trying too hard to impress anyone. A few years ago at a fragrance presentation at Bloomingale’s, I learned that fragrances evaporate spray once around your ankle area or your wrist. If you do spray in your chest area by the end of the day you will need to spray more, so this is more economical. Blending fragrances is not recommended, if you do make sure one scent is neutral. I strongly encourage blending perfumes with bath and shower gels with like scents of course, this is another great way to make your fragrance last. Goodluck on your signature collection!

Shopping at the Beverly Center

Published April 26, 2007 by CoutureCentral

Located on the border between Beverly Hills and Hollywood, this mall provides an atmosphere where every shopper can find exactly what they’re looking for. Whether you’re looking to find the latest in fashion, new movie releases, or a new restaurant. The Beverly Center has everything to meet the lifestyle needs of every shopper. In the Beverly Center, you will find shoppers from all walks of life. Many celebrities are often stopped by their admirers at this mall. Locals, tourists, and celebrities enjoy this mall because of the wonderful variety. Who wouldn’t want to get some shopping done, have a treatment at the spa, and end their day by seeing a movie?!

The Beverly Center has everything for the shopper who is looking for the newest fashion trends. Depending on your budget, you can find boutiques, upscale department stores, or smaller chains (if you’re watching your pocket book.) Women can choose from such stores as American Eagle Outfitters, Ann Taylor, Arden B, AIX Armani Exchange, Banana Republic, Bebe, Bernini Sport, Ben Sherman, Cache, Club Monaco, Coach, Custo- Barcelona, D&G, Dior, and more! There are more than enough stores to address every woman’s shopping need. For the typical man who does not enjoy the shopping experience, I would recommend going to a department store such as Macy’s Men where they offer great variety in fashion while making the shopping experience an enjoyable. There are many shops that carry a great selection of men’s apparel for the man who is considered to be a “patient shopper.” Many of the shops that carry women’s apparel named above carry men’s. I’d recommend DKNY, Express Men, Just Cavalli, Lucky Brand Jeans, Gucci, H&M, Guess, Heritage 1981, Hugo Boss, Kenneth Cole New York, and Politix. All of these stores are nice to take a look through if you aren’t pressed for time.

There’s excellent variety in terms of children’s apparel and activities for them to enjoy during their visit at the mall. The Ferrari store offers what else but everything Ferrari (children, men’s, and women’s apparel.) In addition to clothing, there are some great accessories and toys for children to enjoy. If you’re looking to keep your child in the latest designer fashions, try the Lacoste Boutique. Other favorites include Geox, Gymboree, Replay, and H&M. Momoberry by Sanrio is a great shop to find your favorite Sanrio themed items. Families can enjoy the wonderful new addition of the Beverly Cinema 13. For your viewing pleasure there are 13 screens fully equipped with Dolby stereo and DTS sound. Balcony seating is also available in this state of the art theatre. Seeing the latest blockbuster is a great way to end an exhausting shopping day with the kids.

If you’re a shopper that’s looking to be pampered after a long day, try unwinding at one of the spas. L.A. Nails & Spa is a wonderful full service salon where you can get your manicure and pedicure done at the same time. The services they offer are endless; they really work hard to accommodate the needs of their customers. Aveda is a chain that’s well known for their products and their salons. If you’re looking to go through a transformation, this is the place for you. Aveda is a full service salon that will have everything you’re looking for.

Shopping at the Beverly Center will prove to be a fun and unique experience for everyone. There are endless activities that will keep you amused the next time you’re at the mall. Even if you’re a tourist, you may have the opportunity to meet a movie star of your dreams while you’re looking at some of the hottest fashions in the world! There is truly something at The Beverly Center for everyone to enjoy, that’s definitely the secret of many successful businesses in The Beverly Center. If you wish to truly take advantage of all that The Beverly Center has to offer, give yourself at at least a weekend!

Ricky Martin’s Blanco Y Negro Tour

Published April 26, 2007 by CoutureCentral

International heart throb, Ricky Martin kicked off his Blanco Y Negro tour in San Jose, California. In San Jose, he performed before a sold out crowd of devoted fans, who could sing each word of his songs. Ricky took everyone on a global tour of he considered “the best of his music.” He opened the show with his current single “Pegate”, with a very slow melodic arrangement of this single. Through the journey we experienced some of his past hit singles such as, “She’s All I Ever Had”, “Vuelve”, “Tal Vez”, and of course the song that gave him his claim to fame in America “Livin’ La Vida Loca.” Ricky gave his fans a taste of everything, from Spanish rock, dance music. Ricky could not forget causes that are near and very dear to him, he honored all of the people who are suffering in the world with his song “Somos La Semilla.” He could leave without giving his fans a show they would never forget!

Ricky continued onto Fresno, California where many fans traveled from all over California to see their heartthrob. Ricky made it apparent, that he’s on a mission of perfection. Small changes are made to his tour after each show. In Fresno, he decided to reduce his dialogue from his previous show. His show that night was filled with energy, it wasn’t apparent to most that Ricky had been traveling on and off for over three months. He seemed more energized than ever with faced paced choreography, and he shared great enthusiasm with his fans about his MTV Unplugged album.

On route to Los Angeles, Ricky finally got a day off to reflect, and appreciate the wonderful things in his life. In his shows in Los Angeles, and San Diego he shared with his audience how frustrated he is about news stories, and rumors about him. He wants to focus on the more serious issues that are plaguing the nations. He said, “Some mornings I wake up feeling weird, I just make a list of 10 reasons why I’m grateful.” He encouraged his audience to do the same. At that moment each member of his audience faithfully listened to their Latin idol, and they took that bit of wisdom home with them.

Ricky’s music filled the hearts of fans in the cities of San Jose, Fresno, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and San Diego opening week. Many of his fans, whom have been with him throughout the years, will continue to support him and travel to other locations during this twenty city tour. Ricky will open week 2 of his tour in Rosement, Illinois; from there he will travel to Fairfax, Virginia.

Welcome!
